Jews Claim Paradise – But Fear Death?#surahalbaqarah #jews #asiancuisinebyfarzana

🌟 Introduction & Background:

These verses were revealed in Madinah after the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ migrated there. At that time, three major Jewish tribes lived in Madinah:

Banu Qaynuqa

Banu Nadir

Banu Qurayzah

These tribes believed themselves to be the chosen people of God, claiming that:

Paradise is exclusively for them,

Other nations, including Muslims, are not worthy of salvation,

They were superior because they had received earlier scriptures.

The Qur’an responded to their arrogant claims by exposing the hypocrisy and contradictions in their behavior and beliefs.

📖 Verse-by-Verse Explanation (Surah Al-Baqarah 94–97):

🧩 Verse 94 — "If Paradise is only for you..."

“Say: If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is for you alone, and not for others, then wish for death – if you are truthful.”

🔍 Explanation:

This verse challenges the Jewish claim that they alone deserve Paradise.

The logic is simple:
If you’re so sure of your exclusive right to Paradise,
then you should wish to die to enter it sooner.

But they avoid death because they know their deeds are corrupt and that they are not truly righteous.

🚫 Verse 95 — "But they will never wish for it..."

“But they will never wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have sent ahead. And Allah knows well the wrongdoers.”

🔍 Explanation:

Allah declares that they will never desire death —
not because of their love for life alone,
but because they are aware of the sins and injustices they have committed.

Their own guilty conscience prevents them from desiring to meet Allah.

💰 Verse 96 — "Most greedy for life..."

“And you will surely find them the most greedy for life – even more than those who associate partners with Allah. Each of them wishes to live a thousand years. But even a long life would not save him from punishment. And Allah is All-Seeing of what they do.”

🔍 Explanation:

These verses expose their excessive love for worldly life.

Even idolaters (who had no belief in the afterlife) were not as obsessed with life as the Jews.

Every one of them wanted to live a thousand years, thinking they could avoid accountability.

But no length of life can save one from Allah’s punishment if their deeds are corrupt.

👼 Verse 97 — "Whoever is an enemy to Jibreel..."

“Say: Whoever is an enemy to Jibreel (Gabriel) — it is he who brought it (the Qur’an) down upon your heart by Allah’s permission, confirming what came before it, and as guidance and glad tidings for the believers.”

🔍 Explanation:

Some Jews in Madinah hated Angel Jibreel (Gabriel).

They claimed that Gabriel brought harsh messages, such as war and punishment, while Mika’il (Michael) brought rain and blessings.

They argued that the Qur’an should have been revealed through Mika’il, not Jibreel.

📌 Allah responded clearly:

Jibreel only brings down revelation by Allah’s command.

The Qur’an is not a personal message from Jibreel, but divine revelation sent to the Prophet’s heart.

It confirms the earlier scriptures (like the Torah) and brings guidance and good news to the believers.

✅ Summary of Lessons from These Verses:
