Divine Exposure: The False Beliefs of Jews & Christians #surahaltaubah #حضرت_عذیر#حضرتےعیسی_ابن_مریم
🔰 INTRODUCTION
(Surah At-Tawbah 30 to 32)
In these powerful verses, the Qur’an exposes the false beliefs and corrupt practices of previous nations — particularly the Jews and Christians — who deviated from pure monotheism. Instead of worshipping only Allah, they elevated prophets, saints, and religious leaders to divine status. These ayahs are a clear warning and a reminder that Allah’s light (truth and guidance) can never be extinguished, no matter how much the disbelievers try.
📜 HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Jews calling Ezra (عزیر) the son of God:
While not all Jews believed this, some sects of the Jews in Arabia, especially in Medina, held this belief. Ezra (Uzair عليه السلام) was highly respected for reviving the Torah, and some began to revere him in a way that eventually became shirk (associating partners with Allah).
Christians calling Jesus the son of God:
This refers to the established Christian belief in the divinity of Jesus (Isa عليه السلام), calling him the “Son of God” and part of the Trinity. Islam rejects this entirely, affirming that Jesus was a prophet and servant of Allah, not divine.
Worship of Scholars & Monks:
The Qur’an also condemns Jews and Christians for obeying their religious leaders blindly — even when they made halal into haram and vice versa — treating their rulings as if they were divine laws, which is another form of false worship.
Trying to Extinguish the Light of Allah:
This metaphor refers to all efforts made to suppress Islam, its message, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — whether through mockery, attacks, distortion, or open hostility. But Allah promises to complete and perfect His Light, i.e., Islam will prevail.
📚 SUMMARY OF AYAT 30–32 (Surah At-Tawbah)
Verse 30:
Jews said Ezra is the son of God, and Christians said Jesus is the son of God. These are false statements, imitating earlier disbelievers. Allah curses such delusions.
Verse 31:
They took rabbis, priests, and even Jesus as lords besides Allah. But they were commanded to worship only one God, Who is far above these false claims.
Verse 32:
Disbelievers try to extinguish Allah's light (Islam), but Allah will make His light complete and victorious, no matter how much they hate it.
