Surah Al-Quraysh (سورۃ قریش)

Introduction

Surah Al-Quraysh is the 106th chapter of the Holy Qur’an. Although it contains only four verses, it delivers a powerful message about gratitude, provision, security, and worship. Allah reminds the Quraysh tribe of the blessings He granted them—safe trade journeys, abundant sustenance, and protection from fear. In return, they were commanded to worship Allah alone, the Lord of the Ka'bah.

History About Quraysh

The Quraysh were one of the most respected Arab tribes living in Makkah. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ belonged to this noble tribe. Because of the Ka'bah's presence in Makkah, neighboring tribes respected the Quraysh and allowed their trade caravans to travel safely.

The Quraysh became wealthy through trade routes connecting Yemen in the south and Syria in the north. Despite receiving many blessings from Allah, many among them rejected the message of Islam when the Prophet ﷺ began preaching. Surah Al-Quraysh serves as a reminder that all blessings come from Allah and should lead people toward faith and gratitude.
