Introduction These verses from Surah Ghafir (40:62–66) highlight the Oneness of Allah, His power as the Creator, and the purpose of worship. Allah reminds us that He alone created everything, shaped mankind in the best form, and provided pure sustenance. He is the Ever-Living, and no one deserves worship except Him. The Prophet (ﷺ) is commanded to declare that worship is only for the Lord of all worlds, based on clear guidance. ✨ Summary Surah Ghafir 62–66 teaches that Allah is the only true God, the Creator of the universe and the Sustainer of every living being. He made the earth a stable place to live, raised the sky like a protective canopy, and formed humanity beautifully. Since Allah alone is Ever-Living, worship must be sincerely devoted to Him. The Prophet (ﷺ) announces that he is forbidden from worshiping anything besides Allah, and he submits fully to the Lord of all worlds  

🕋 English Translation (Verse 38–40) Verse 38: "I follow the way of my forefathers — Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is not for us to associate anything with Allah. That is the grace of Allah upon us and upon mankind, but most people are not grateful." Verse 39: "O my fellow prisoners! Are many different lords better, or Allah — the One, the All-Powerful?" Verse 40: "You worship nothing besides Him except names you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. The command belongs to Allah alone. He has ordered that you worship none but Him. She said, “Come out before them!” When they saw him, they were astonished at his beauty, cut their hands, and exclaimed, “Glory be to Allah! This is no man — he is but a noble angel!” Verse 32: She said, “This is the one about whom you blamed me! Yes, I tried to seduce him, but he resisted. Yet if he does not do what I command, he shall surely be imprisoned and will be among the disgraced.” Verse 33: He said, “My Lord! Prison is dearer to me than what they invite me to. And unless You turn their plots away from me, I might incline toward them and be among the ignorant.” Verse 34: So his Lord answered him and turned away their plot from him. 🌙 📖 Surah Yusuf (26–30) – Translation (English) Verse 26: Yusuf said, “It was she who sought to seduce me.” And a witness from her family testified: “If his shirt is torn from the front, then she is telling the truth, and he is a liar.” Verse 27: “But if his shirt is torn from the back, then she is lying, and he is speaking the truth.” Verse 28: So when her husband saw that Yusuf’s shirt was torn from the back, he said, “Indeed, this is one of your women’s plots. Truly, your schemes are great.” Verse 29: “O Yusuf, ignore this! And you, woman, ask forgiveness for your sin. Indeed, you were of the wrongdoers.” Verse 30: And the women in the city said, “The wife of the governor is trying to seduce her young servant. He has captured her heart with love. Indeed, we see her clearly in error.”  

 Tafseer Ibn Kathir (Detailed Explanation): According to Tafseer Ibn Kathir: Verse 22: When Yusuf (A.S.) reached adulthood (around 30 years), Allah granted him wisdom (Hukm) and knowledge (Ilm). Ibn Kathir explains that “Hukm” refers to the ability to judge between right and wrong — like a prophet’s wisdom. This was the first stage of his Nubuwwat (Prophethood). Verse 23: Ibn Kathir narrates that the wife of Al-Aziz (named Zulaikha in most reports) became infatuated with Yusuf’s beauty. She locked all doors and tried to seduce him. Yusuf’s answer “Ma‘adh Allah!” shows his deep faith and gratitude toward Allah and his master. He reminds himself that Allah has blessed him — how could he betray that trust? Lesson: The fear of Allah and remembrance of His favors is the best protection from sin.
