250 gm masoor dal / Red lentil +Yellow lentil /Moong dal 4 Tbsp
3 1/2 cups water plus more as needed
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt

1 tbsp Crushed ginger garlic
1/2 cup oil vegetable / ghee
1 onion finely chopped
2 Dry Red chilies optional
1 tsp cumin seed
4 green chilies chopped
2 bay leaves
3 Chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp whole spice powder
1 tsp Dry fenugreek leaves
handful of cilantro chopped/ fresh Coriander + green chiles
