Does God Exist? Quran vs Atheism
Surah Al-Baqarah | Verse 258
English Translation
Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had granted him kingship? When Abraham said, “My Lord is the One who gives life and causes death,” he said, “I give life and cause death.”
Abraham said, “Indeed, Allah brings the sun from the east, so bring it from the west.”
So the disbeliever was confounded, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
🧠EXPLANATION
This verse presents a historic debate between Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim عليه السلام) and King Nimrod.
Nimrod claimed power because of his kingdom.
Abraham first used a biological argument (life and death).
Nimrod twisted the meaning to deceive.
Abraham then used a cosmic argument—the movement of the sun.
Nimrod had no answer.
🔑 Lesson:
False gods collapse when faced with clear logic and divine truth.
