English Translation (Clear & Heart-Touching)

1. By the morning brightness,
2. And by the night when it grows still,
3. Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He hated you.
4. And surely what comes later will be better for you than what has gone before.
5. And your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be satisfied.
6. Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?
7. And find you lost and guide you?
8. And find you needy and make you self-sufficient?
9. So do not oppress the orphan,
10. And do not repel the one who asks,
11. And proclaim the blessings of your Lord.

Introduction

Surah Ad-Duha was revealed during a time when revelation had paused, and the enemies of Islam mocked the Prophet ﷺ, saying that Allah had abandoned him.
This Surah came as a powerful message of comfort, hope, and reassurance, reminding the Prophet ﷺ — and every believer — that Allah never leaves His servants alone, even in silence.

Allah swears by light after darkness, teaching that hard times never last forever.

Allah clearly says: “Your Lord has not abandoned you.”

The future holds better days, even if the present feels heavy.

Allah reminds the Prophet ﷺ of past help:

Be gentle with orphans

Never push away someone who asks
