Surah Al-Qalam (68): Verses 17–29

🔹 English Translation (Verse by Verse)

68:17
Indeed, We tested them as We tested the owners of the garden, when they swore to harvest it early in the morning.

68:18
Without saying, “If Allah wills.”

68:19
So a calamity from your Lord came upon the garden while they were asleep.

68:20
And by morning it was like a burnt field.

68:21
They called out to one another at daybreak,

68:22
“Go early to your crops, if you are going to harvest.”

68:23
So they set out, whispering to one another,

68:24
“Let no poor person enter it today.”

68:25
And they went early, thinking they had full control.

68:26
But when they saw it, they said, “Surely we are lost.”

68:27
“No, rather we have been deprived.”

68:28
The most reasonable among them said, “Did I not tell you to glorify Allah?”

68:29
They said, “Glory be to our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.”

🔹 Explanation (Easy & Clear)

یہ واقعہ باغ والوں کا ہے جو اللہ کی نعمت پر غرور میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔
انہوں نے ارادہ کیا کہ فصل صبح سویرے کاٹ لیں تاکہ غریبوں کو کچھ نہ ملے۔
انہوں نے ان شاء اللہ کہنا بھی چھوڑ دیا، یعنی اللہ کی مرضی کو بھلا دیا۔
اللہ نے رات ہی رات ان کا باغ تباہ کر دیا۔
جب دیکھا تو سمجھ گئے کہ یہ اللہ کی سزا ہے، اور آخرکار توبہ کی۔

یہ آیات ہمیں سکھاتی ہیں کہ:

نعمت پر غرور تباہی لاتا ہے

غریبوں کا حق روکنا ظلم ہے

اللہ کو بھولنے کا انجام نقصان ہے

توبہ کا دروازہ ہمیشہ کھلا ہے

کچھ لوگ ایک خوبصورت باغ کے مالک تھے۔
ہر سال وہ غریبوں کو حصہ دیتے تھے، مگر ایک سال لالچ آ گیا۔
انہوں نے فیصلہ کیا کہ صبح سویرے جا کر سب کچھ خود لے لیں گے۔
اللہ نے رات ہی رات باغ جلا دیا۔
صبح جا کر انہوں نے سبق سیکھا کہ
نعمت کا مالک اللہ ہے، انسان نہیں۔

🔹 Description

This beautiful incident from Surah Al-Qalam teaches us the dangers of greed, arrogance, and forgetting Allah. The story of the garden owners reminds us that wealth is a test, and success lies in gratitude, charity, and humility.
