This One Mistake Took Them to Hell… Quran Reveals the Truth!
Introduction
Surah Al-Muddathir is one of the early Makki surahs that delivers a powerful warning to humanity. In verses 41–48, Allah shows a deeply emotional scene from the Day of Judgment, where the people of Jannah ask the people of Hell about the reasons behind their punishment. These verses are a strong reminder about الصلاة (prayer), compassion, and accountability.
📖 Explanation (Tafsir Style – Simple & Clear)
These verses describe a conversation between the people of Paradise and the criminals in Hell:
👉 “What brought you into Hell?”
This question is not just curiosity—it is a lesson for all of us.
The people of Hell give 4 shocking reasons:
1. ❌ They did not pray (Salah)
“لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ”
They abandoned Salah, which is the most important pillar after faith.
2. ❌ They did not feed the poor
“وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ”
They lacked compassion and ignored the needy.
3. ❌ They wasted time in false talk
“وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ”
They indulged in useless, sinful discussions and followed wrong gatherings.
4. ❌ They denied the Day of Judgment
“وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ”
They rejected accountability, so they lived carelessly.
👉 Final Result:
They continued like this until death came, and then it was too late.
⚠️ Verse 48 Warning
“No intercession will benefit them.”
Meaning: When someone dies in disbelief and sin without repentance, no one can save them.
