Introduction
Surah An-Naml (27:16–19) beautifully highlights one of Prophet Solomon's (AS) greatest miracles: Allah granted him the ability to understand the language of birds and other creatures. When an ant warned its colony about Solomon's approaching army, Solomon smiled with gratitude and immediately thanked Allah for His countless blessings. These verses teach humility, gratitude, mercy, and the importance of recognizing Allah as the source of every blessing.
Description
These inspiring verses describe the extraordinary kingdom of Prophet Solomon (AS), whose disciplined army consisted of humans, jinn, and birds. As they reached the Valley of the Ants, a tiny ant warned the others to seek safety. By Allah's permission, Solomon understood the ant's words, smiled with compassion, and turned to Allah in gratitude. Instead of being proud of his miraculous gift, he prayed for the ability to remain thankful and righteous. This story reminds us that true greatness lies in humility and gratitude before Allah.
Short Story of Solomon and the Ants
Prophet Solomon (AS) was blessed by Allah with the ability to understand the speech of birds and animals. While leading his magnificent army, he reached a valley inhabited by ants. One ant warned the others to quickly enter their homes so they would not be accidentally crushed. Solomon heard the ant's words, smiled with kindness, and thanked Allah for His blessings. Rather than becoming arrogant, he prayed for gratitude and righteousness, demonstrating that true leadership is built on mercy, humility, and thankfulness to Allah.
