Mutanjan became especially popular in Lucknow, Delhi, and Hyderabad during grand feasts and festive occasions like Eid and weddings. Today, it remains a timeless dish that symbolizes hospitality and festivity in South Asian culture.
🥣 Ingredients (Basic Traditional Mutanjan)
2 cups Basmati Rice (soaked & boiled)
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Ghee
1/2 cup Milk/water
1 cup Khoya (Milk solids)
Few drops Food Colors (red, yellow, green)
½ tsp Cardamom Powder
Mixed Dry Fruits (Almonds, Pistachios, Cashews, Raisins)
Tutti Frutti / Candied fruits – as required
1 tsp Rose water
