π Surah Al-Baqarah – Verse 259 (Respectful English Translation):
O Noble Prophet ο·Ί! Have you not seen the case of the one who passed by a town that had collapsed upon its roofs? He said, "How will Allah bring this back to life after its death?"
So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then brought him back to life.
Allah said, "How long did you remain?"
He replied, "I remained for a day or part of a day."
Allah said, "No! You have remained for a hundred years. Now look at your food and your drink — they have not spoiled. And look at your donkey — and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones, how We raise them and then clothe them with flesh."
When it became clear to him, he said, "Now I know that Allah is indeed Most Powerful over everything!"

π Introduction:
This verse from Surah Al-Baqarah tells the profound story of a man, traditionally understood by Islamic scholars to be Prophet Uzair (AS), who passed by a ruined, deserted town. He wondered how Allah could restore it to life after such total destruction. In response, Allah caused him to die for 100 years, then resurrected him. Through this, Allah demonstrated His absolute power over life and death, making the man a living sign for all people.
π Summary of the Verse (2:259):
Prophet Uzair (AS) passed by a town destroyed to its foundations and questioned how it would be revived. Allah put him to death for 100 years and then brought him back to life. His food and drink remained fresh, while his donkey had decayed. Allah then miraculously restored the donkey’s body before his eyes. Witnessing this, Uzair (AS) acknowledged the ultimate power of Allah over all things, especially life and death.
π Lesson from the Story:
Allah is All-Powerful: Life and death are completely in Allah’s control.
Faith Beyond Logic: Human understanding is limited; divine power surpasses imagination.
Allah’s Signs Are Clear: Even decay and destruction can be reversed by His command.
Learning Through Experience: Sometimes, Allah teaches lessons through personal demonstration, not just speech.
Visible Proof Strengthens Faith: Miracles serve as reminders and confirmations for both the prophets and the people.
