If you’re drowning in depression, read the story of Yusuf — Allah always has a plan.”Surah Yusuf

Surah Yusuf (67–70) — English Translation (Verse by Verse)

﴿67﴾
He said, “O my sons! Do not enter (the city) by one gate; rather enter through different gates. I cannot avail you against Allah at all. The command belongs to none but Allah. Upon Him I rely, and upon Him should the reliant rely.”

﴿68﴾
And when they entered the city in the way their father instructed, it did not protect them from anything Allah had decreed; except that it fulfilled a desire in Jacob’s heart. Indeed, he was a man of knowledge, because We had taught him, but most people do not know.

﴿69﴾
And when they entered in the presence of Joseph, he took his brother (Benjamin) to himself and said, “Indeed, I am your brother, so do not be distressed over what they used to do.”

﴿70﴾
Then, when he had furnished them with their supplies, he placed the king’s cup in his brother’s bag. Then a caller cried out, “O caravan! You are surely thieves!”

🔍 Summary

These verses describe Prophet Yaqub’s wise advice to his sons to enter Egypt through different gates for precaution—not as distrust in Allah, but out of worldly concern. The brothers arrive, and Prophet Yusuf secretly reveals his identity to his younger brother Benjamin. To keep him close, Yusuf places the royal cup in Benjamin’s bag, leading to the accusation that the caravan has stolen the king’s cup.
