Surah Al-Falaq
English Translation (Verse by Verse)
1. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.
2. From the evil of what He has created.
3. And from the evil of the darkness when it settles.
4. And from the evil of those who blow on knots (practice witchcraft).
5. And from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Explanation
Surah Al-Falaq is a powerful supplication taught by Allah for protection from hidden and visible harms.
Lord of Daybreak: Allah is the One who brings light after darkness and removes harm.
Evil of creation: Protection from any harm that may come from people, animals, jinn, or unseen dangers.
Darkness of night: Night can conceal many dangers and fears.

Historical Background
It is reported that a man named Labid ibn al-A'sam practiced magic against Muhammad.
